Hwy. 281 to close at Wurzbach on Saturday morning

SAN ANTONIO – Starting at 2 a.m. Saturday, the main lanes of Highway 281 in both directions will be closed for a concrete pour.

According to a spokesman for the Texas Department of Transportation, crews will be pouring concrete to form the overpass bridge for Wurzbach Parkway over Highway 281.

Drivers heading south on Highway 281 will have to exit at Bitters, go through the Bitters and Nakoma intersections, and then get back on the highway.

Drivers going northbound will exit at Nakoma, go through the intersection and then reenter the highway.

Barring any complications, the project should be completed by mid-morning Saturday.

Donat said the project is on schedule and this section should be ready to open in mid-summer.
