Men who tied up family during home invasion arrested

Police say suspects tied up family while ransacking house

HOUSTON – Two men were arrested in Houston after allegedly tying up and robbing a family.

Houston police said five men broke into the Houston home early Tuesday morning and held a man, woman, and 8-year-old boy at gunpoint.

HPD reported that the suspects tied up the family while they looted the house, stealing guns and cash.

The suspects' getaway was interrupted by a deputy constable who was investigating why the vehicle was sitting in front of the house when it took off, leading police on a short pursuit. The vehicle ended up in a ditch, and three suspects fled on foot.

Police then set up a perimeter and caught two of the five suspects. KPRC TV in Houston reported the names of the two arrested as Toddrick Cartwright, 20, and Cornelius Lathers Jr., 21.

Neighbors said that some of the suspects stole their paddle boat during their escape.

Investigators reported finding what appeared to be a bag full of bullets in a nearby neighbor's yard.

Three of the five suspects are still at large.
