Wilson County fire reignites, burns through 25 acres

Fire threatened homes and barn, no structures caught fire

WILSON COUNTY, Texas – The Wilson County Fire Marshal said a fire that originally started two to three days ago with someone burning trash reignited Sunday and started a brush fire.

Despite the heavy rains this year, conditions are very dry and ripe for fire hazard, the Fire Marshal said.

The fire threatened five homes and a barn, but none of those structures caught fire.

Wilson County commissioners are expected to discuss reinstating a burn ban Monday.
