Retired SAPD detective arrested in Waco biker shootout; 1 killed from New Braunfels

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department said one of the suspects arrested in the Waco, Texas biker gang shootout was a retired SAPD detective.

Martin Lewis, 62, served the department for 32 years until his retirement in February 2004, according to an SAPD press release.

Gunfire erupted among rival biker gangs at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco on May 17 leaving at least nine people dead and 18 injured, according to police.

More than 170 people at the scene were taken into custody.

SAPD officials said no other information on Lewis' arrest was available as of Tuesday evening.

The Dallas Morning News has also released the names of the victims who died during the incident and the list includes a man from New Braunfels.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Jesus Delgado Rodriguez, 65, died of gunshot wounds in the head and trunk. 

All nine fatalities were caused by a gunshot wound and all the victims were men.
