Seven people were arrested during the protest, which started Sunday afternoon and ran through to the early hours of Monday morning. The violence, which also saw several police vehicles damaged, was branded as โunacceptableโ by Britain's interior minister, Priti Patel. Under the terms of the legislation, which covers England and Wales, police will be handed new powers to tackle demonstrations.

SAN ANTONIO โ Experts say communication failure is causing a safety crisis for domestic violence victims, so state lawmakers have introduced a new bill that would make it easier to arrest domestic violence offenders who violate their bond conditions. โThere are things that are required to be in the Texas Criminal Information Center, but family violence is not one of them. Senate Bill 343 would give law enforcement officers the ability to quickly see the conditions of bond for family violence offenders immediately after being released on bond. Effort to put Tubman on $20 bill restarted under Biden

San Antonio lawmaker wants Texas Legislature to meet annually
SAN ANTONIO โ A state lawmaker from San Antonio has filed a bill that would require the Texas Legislature to hold annual legislative sessions instead of every two years. HJR 52 would require the legislature to meet for 70 days each year from mid-March to May instead of the current schedule of 140-day meetings in odd-numbered years. The Republican who represents District 122 said meeting annually would allow lawmakers to address urgent issues and events. โWith the passage of HJR 52, the Legislature could have real-time votes of confidence with regard to its leadership if any controversy arises,โ he said. โRevenue projections could be made for a 12-month period, instead of 24, making our budgeting process significantly more accurate.
Trump says Barr resigning, will leave before Christmas
WASHINGTON โ Attorney General William Barr, one of President Donald Trumpโs staunchest allies, is resigning amid lingering tension with the president over the presidentโs baseless claims of election fraud and the investigation into president-elect Joe Bidenโs son. Barr went to the White House on Monday, where Trump said he submitted his letter of resignation. โAs per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family,โ Trump tweeted. Trump has also been angry that the Justice Department did not publicly announce it was investigating Hunter Biden ahead of the election, despite department policy against such a pronouncement. Trump said Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen, whom he labeled โan outstanding person,โ will become Acting Attorney General.
Monday was San Antonios hottest day in seven years
With a scorching afternoon high temperature of 107 degrees recorded at San Antonio International Airport Monday afternoon, it was officially the hottest day in the Alamo City since June 29, 2013. Additionally, 107 degrees makes for the hottest temperature ever recorded in San Antonio for the month of July. Elsewhere, high temperature records were smashed. A Monday afternoon high temperature of 112 degrees at Del Rio International Airport ties the hottest temperature ever recorded in Del Rio since records have been taken (1905).
