Missing child, 21-year-old woman found safe, San Antonio police say
SAN ANTONIO – Update (8:15 a.m., Oct. 12): Kimberly Rose Mata and her 1-year-old child have been located, according to the San Antonio Police Department. Original (Oct. 9): San Antonio police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing child and a 21-year-old woman. Family members reported the child and Kimberly Mata missing early Friday morning. The missing child is described as having straight, shoulder-length hair, and she was last seen wearing a white, multi-colored shirt and shorts with hearts, according to police. BCSO: Neighbor threw beer can at child, cursed at him while he was playing basketball
Adam Bazan has been charged with bodily injury to a child, a third-degree felony, following the incident on July 8, booking records show. According to an arrest affidavit, Bazan began harassing the child as he was playing basketball with his friends outside his Far West Side home. Bazan was behind the fence of his house and started to curse at the group of friends, the affidavit states. He became angry and threw the beer can across the street, striking the child, investigators say. Bazans bond was set at $7,500, online booking records show.
23-month-old child killed when attacked by dog in Texas
QUINLAN, Texas Authorities say a toddler was killed when attacked by a dog in North Texas. The 23-month-old child left an enclosed yard on Monday unnoticed by family members and walked a short distance along a gravel road before being attacked by the dog, or a pit bull or pit bull mix, said Hunt County Sheriffs Sgt. The child died at a hospital in after being found in the road by deputies responding to reports of a dog attack near Quinlan, about 40 miles (64 kilometers) northeast of Dallas, Haines said. The dog is being held at an animal control shelter. No arrests have been made or charges filed pending completion of an investigation.
