Few downpours possible this week; significant rainfall stays east

Rain could trigger flooding in Houston, surrounding areas

SAN ANTONIO – A tropical low sits just off the Texas coast and is forecast to slowly move north over the next few days.  While this would typically bring some beneficial rainfall for South Texas,  the path of the low may, unfortunately, leave us on the dry side of things.

Pop-up downpours will still be possible for the area, especially on Wednesday and Thursday. Some downpours could produce heavy rain, mainly east of Interstate 35. The Houston area could be looking at the potential for flooding, which has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood watch for the Houston metropolitan area.

Daytime high temperatures will drop a bit this week, courtesy of the added moisture, but mid-90s remain in the forecast.
