A graphic design professor in Missouri knits a 12-foot-long scarf -- while running a marathon.
David Babcock finished the Kansas City Marathon in 5 hours, 48 minutes and 27 seconds, but not before setting a Guinness world record for knitting-while-running-a-marathon with a scarf measuring 12 feet, 1 3/4 inches, the Kansas City Star reported.

The University of Central Missouri professor shattered her own record of a 6-foot-9-inch-long scarf she knit during a marathon in London last spring.
Before that, the record was held by Susie Hewer, who made a scarf measuring 5 feet, 2 inches long in 2008 at the Flora London Marathon, according to the Star.
Babcock began running and knitting separately about three years ago, and decided to combine them to keep things interesting.
He runs to raise money for Alzheimer's disease research.
