SAN ANTONIO – Summer is officially in full swing and despite the soaring temperatures, there is still plenty going on in south Texas.

Luling Watermelon Thump: This festival has been around since 1954 and plenty of live music, food and entertainment for the entire family is on tap for Friday and Saturday.

Bandera RiverFest:  This festival is a perfect way to cool off. You are encouraged to bring your swimsuit and river shoes to enjoy the Medina River. Attractions include live music, a cook-off, kayak races, river rodeo and river parade. All the fun happens Friday and Saturday.

"Little Texan, Big World": This is a new exhibit at the Institute of Texan Cultures. The exhibit was created by the City's Park and Recreation youth centers' summer programs. It will feature photos, art and other media created by students. 

Family Art Play - Invention Convention: This family fun program occurs the last Sunday of every month from 1 to 4 p.m. There are activities the entire family can enjoy.

Iron Maiden: The New Wave of British Heavy Metal legends make their triumphant return to Texas. They will take the stage Saturday night at the AT&T Center.

Josh Abbott Band: The Texas country band returns to New Braunfels at the Whitewater Amphitheater on Saturday night. Tickets are still available. 

San Antonio Stars: Our WNBA team will be action on Friday night. The team will face off against the Dallas Wings at the AT&T Center.
