Santa visits children at University Hospital

Teddy Bears for Tykes helps encourage blood donation for gifts

SAN ANTONIO – University Hospital is helping to add a little holiday cheer for children who are spending the holidays in the hospital.

Santa Claus strolled into University Hospital on Tuesday with a big bag of teddy bears. The Teddy Bears for Tykes program encourages blood donation and provides bears to sick children.

The bears are courtesy of blood donors who contribute to University Health System's blood bank.

Santa also had a little fun visiting with the young patients.
