Seagal Becomes Sheriff's Deputy In West Texas

Actor Steven Seagal Sworn In As Deputy In Hudspeth County

SAN ANTONIO – We always knew he was tough, taking down bad guy after bad guy in movie after movie. But now, actor Steven Seagal will be fighting real-life bad guys as a Sheriff's Deputy in Hudspeth County.

Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West made it official at a swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday.

Seagal won't start his duties right away, but he is expected to start sometime later this year.

Hudspeth County is just east of El Paso County. It is considered a hot-bed for drug smuggling.

Seagal took a tour of the border for a few hours this week and met with his soon-to-be co-workers after he was sworn in.

If all this sounds familiar, it's because Seagal used to be a Sheriff's deputy in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.

There, he was the start of an A&E reality show called, 'Steven Seagal: Lawman.'

No word yet on if a similar reality show is in the works for Seagal's time in Hudspeth County.
