HOUSTON – A Houston-area man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison in a child pornography investigation in which he described himself as a "monster."
A federal judge in Houston on Thursday afternoon sentenced 37-year-old D.J. Christopher Lowe, who in 2011 pleaded guilty to possession, distribution and production of child pornography. Investigators say Lowe exploited six children, including a toddler.

Prosecutors say Lowe spoke at the court hearing and called himself a "monster" in cases going back to 2009.
Lowe's activities were discovered in an investigation into online chats and images involving a man in Italy. That led to Lowe's home being raided in August 2010.
Investigators located more than 17,000 images and hundreds of videos of child pornography.
