Pancake lovers flocked to IHOP on Tuesday for a special National Pancake Day offer.
All day, the restaurant chain offered a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes to customers.
In return, they encouraged customers to leave a donation to benefit Shriners Hospitals, which offers care for sick children free of charge.
For many customers, the day was a celebration of pancakes.
"I love pancakes. I'll eat pancakes any day, twice a day sometimes", said John Searson, an IHOP customer.
Last year, IHOP served 4 million free pancakes on National Pancake Day, raising more than $3 million for children's charities.
Organizers hope the power of the pancake can help do it again this year.
Customers can get a free short stack of pancakes at any IHOP on Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
