An SAPD officer responding to an assault call crashed into a car at a northside intersection Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened as the officer drove east on Thousand Oaks.

SAPD says he had his lights on as he drove through a red light at Wetmore, but a driver with a green light headed into the intersection.
Police say the officer collided with that car, and the officer's car and the other car then both spun into other vehicles.
The woman driver the officer hit was slightly injured.
Another car involved also caught fire after crash, but that fire was quickly put out.
SAPD says it is now investigating the crash.
