Roberto Barron stopped the assault when he was confronted by a passerby who drew his gun at Barron and ordered him to drop the knife. The passerby is concealed handgun license holder, San Antonio police said.
Barron applied for deferred adjudication and was denied. He will have to serve at least half of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
