Woman struck by truck in east San Antonio

Pedestrian taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

A woman was hospitalized Tuesday evening after she was struck by a truck while walking on an East Side road.

San Antonio police said the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on WW White and Gembler Road.

Police said the pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, was walking on Gembler Road when she was struck.

The truck driver kept and reportedly went to his home nearby to call police, then returned to the scene. The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Charges against the driver or details on why the woman was on the road were unknown Wednesday morning.
