Man fatally shot in head in Northeast San Antonio identified

Victim identified as 35-year-old Jeremiah Gomez

The latest this morning after a man is shot in the head, now police are searching for whoever pulled the trigger.

A man who was fatally shot on the Northeast Side Saturday evening has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office. 

Jeremiah Gomez, 35, was killed in a possible related shooting around 9:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Deerwood Drive.

According to San Antonio police, a man and woman got into an altercation with the victim at an apartment complex. Someone pulled out a gun and shot the victim once in the head, police said.

The suspects fled, but were found a short time later hiding behind a house in the 100 block of Rainbow Drive. Police have not said what charges they would face.

The victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition and later died. An investigation is ongoing.
