Papa John's manager shot during robbery

2 men sought in connection with shooting, robbery at NW Side Papa John's restaurant

SAN ANTONIO – A manager at a Papa John's Pizza restaurant was shot during a robbery late Tuesday night.

San Antonio police said two armed men walked into the Papa John's in the 7900 block of Fredericksburg Road on the Northwest Side around 9:30 p.m. and demanded cash.

SAPD officials said they shot the manager because he had trouble opening the safe.

The pair of robbers then fled towards a field that led to an apartment complex behind the building.

The Papa John's manager was transported to the hospital in stable condition and expected to recover, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call San Antonio police.
