SAN ANTONIO – In this Defenders update, customers who paid for headstones they never received could soon be getting some help.
The Southern Monument Builders Association plans to acquire 40 unfilled contracts made my Kleypas Memorials on the city's West Side.
Earlier this week, the Defenders reported that Kleypas Memorials was closed and its owner, Calvin Kelypas, was recently arrested for theft.
His absence left numerous families without the headstones they paid for.
After hearing about their ordeal on KSAT-12, the Southern Monument Builders Association is coordinating with its member business to hopefully fulfill those families' orders.
