Pilot in Kendall Co. plane crash dies

KENDALL COUNTY, Texas – The pilot of a plane that crashed in Kendall County on Tuesday has died, Bexar County Sheriff's officials said late Wednesday.

The man, who was believed to be in his 70s, has not been publicly identified.

Officials said the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on FM 1376 -- also known as Sisterdale Road -- and Walnut Grove.

Responding emergency crews found the man ejected from the plane. He was taken by Airlife to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment of burn-related injuries.

Investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are looking into what caused the crash.
