Man shot by Border Patrol agent

Victim expected to survive

SAN ANTONIO – The Border Patrol, the Texas Rangers and  FBI are investigating the shooting of a person believed to be entering the country illegally.

According to a statement from  U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, the victim was shot by an agent assigned to the Carrizo Springs Border Patrol office.

The shooting happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday in a rural area.

The man was transported to a hospital in San Antonio and is expected to survive.
