Zero-emission, electric trolley makes SA debut

SAN ANTONIO – Billed as the public trasportation of the future, an electric trolley was shown off in San Antonio on Friday.

It has a historical 1800s trolley interior with wood and brass, but the way it runs is not at all old-fashioned.

The trolley is fully electric with zero emissions, and is quiet, unlike other diesel buses.

Tt has a long operating range of 120 to 150 miles with a short recharge of four to five hours.

"(It's) an alternative type of transportation that is clean, provides fun (and is) fitting with a downtown historical area and we're hoping by demonstrating this today, we're giving San Antonio another choice of transportation," said Hometown Trolley CEP Christina Dunow.

Dunow said she hopes the city of San Antonio is impressed with the trolleys and adopts them as a new transit option in the future.
