Vigil held for murdered woman

Genevieve Ramirez found unconscious in alley April 4

SAN ANTONIO – The family and friends of Genevieve Ramirez gathered Saturday in remembrance at a vigil in her honor.

Ramirez was found unconscious April 4 in a grassy alleyway in the 100 block of Avondale Avenue. She was taken to a hospital, and then a nursing home. She died from her injuries last week. 

Police have named Johnny Joe Avalos, 28, as a person of interest in her interest in her death.
