Neighbors shocked after car crashes into home, woman found dead inside

Shauna Anderson, 31, shot, killed while driving car

SAN ANTONIO – Police identified the woman killed when she was shot and her car crashed into a house early Saturday morning as Shauna Anderson, 31.

Anderson was driving her car on Glacier Sun when she was shot in the head. Her car careened into an abandoned home.

Neighbors said they heard several gunshots. But the biggest shock came when they realized where the car stopped.

"I thought I saw something blew through the hole. Then afterwards, when we saw the police lights and everything, (I said) ‘Oh! That's a vehicle,’” said Ruth Howard.

Even hours after the shooting a crime scene investigator was still processing the scene. The officer told KSAT that shell casings were scattered nearly 100 yards across the street.

Another neighbor who asked not to be identified said they saw the passenger running around barefoot and “I heard the banging on the wall. Somebody knocked on the door (but) I didn't know what was going on.”

A woman in the car with Anderson was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment.
