Hundreds attend 'Walk for Freedom' downtown

Event took place to bring awareness to Human trafficking

SAN ANTONIO – A "Walk for Freedom" took place on Saturday to help bring awareness to human trafficking.

The event occurred at the YanaGuana Gardens at Hemisfair park downtown.

The walk is one of many organized by A21, a global organization who's mission is to abolish modern slavery in the 21st century.

Over 300 walks have been organized around the world to take place within a 24-hour time frame to bring awareness to human trafficking.

Saturday's walk was the first organized by A21 in San Antonio and organizers and A21 freedom chaser participants both are hoping to educate and make the community aware of the problem growing in SA.

The organization says victims of human trafficking live in fear of their lives and are unlikely to reach out for help on their own and that's why it's important for the community to help.

If you or someone you know is a human trafficking victim, call the national hotline at 1-888-3737-888 for help.
