Residents evacuate after two-alarm fire spreads

Damage estimated at $150,000

SAN ANTONIO – A North Side apartment complex was evacuated early Saturday morning after a fire spread to multiple units.

The central heating in an apartment on the first floor of the Woodhill II apartment complex in the 4900 block of Woodstone Drive started the fire. The fire then spread to the walls and the roof.

Two buildings were evacuated and everyone got out safely.

At one point, 27 fire rescue units were at the scene battling the blaze.

Investigators said the fire was accidental and caused about $150,000 worth of damage.
