Boy, multiple vehicles hit by SUV on West Side

Child taken to University Hospital

SAN ANTONIO – A boy on the city’s West Side was hit by an SUV Sunday evening.

The crash occurred near the intersection of NW 40th Street and Elizabeth Alyn just after 7 p.m.

"As soon as I got there he had blood coming down his the side of his mouth. Down the side of his lip. I just started tearing (up)," the victim’s cousin, David, said.

After hitting the boy, the SUV crashed into several other vehicles parked nearby.

Lucy Canedo lives near the accident site, she said her daughter witness the crash.

"My daughter, she saw everything from the window and she said that the truck was coming you know at high speed and hit the little boy, hit the red car over there, hit the van and moved the truck," Canedo said.

The child was taken to University Hospital for treatment.

San Antonio police were unable to elaborate on the boy’s injuries, but his family said he is expected to be OK.
