SA Hispanic Chamber of Commerce holds ceremony honoring Battle of Puebla victory

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce said a ceremony was held Friday to celebrate the victory of the Mexican and Texas armies against the French in the Mexican city of Puebla.

Crowds gathered on the West Side near the statue built in honor of Gen. Ignacio Zaragoza. He was from Goliad, Texas, and helped defeat the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
