Unidentified female's body found in Malaquite Beach in area closed off to cars

Officials say could be possible drowning

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A female body was found near the surf’s edge in Malaquite Beach, National Parks Service officials said Saturday.

The body was found in the area of the beach that is closed off to vehicles — about two miles north of the Malaquite Visitor Center.

The Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office is working the investigation to find more details. National Parks Service officials said it could be a possible drowning.

The female’s identity is unknown at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 361-595-8500.
