SAN ANTONIO – An overnight fire at a home on the city's Northwest Side started in the garage and spread to a neighbor's house, fire officials said Tuesday.
The fire was reported just after 9:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of West Mariposa Drive, found not far from Interstate 10 and West Avenue.
Firefighters said when they arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the house.Several explosions also slowed progress, officials said. As a result, it took more than hour for firefighters to put out the flames.

The damage is being estimated at $25,000 for each home.
No injuries have been reported. Arson investigators are working to determine the cause.
