The chase began in New Caney after authorities say they found a vehicle at a Flying J on 59 believed to be connected to the Amber Alert. A silver-colored 2015 Dodge Ram was named in the alert.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies chased the vehicle to Splendora where the driver hit two vehicles. We’re told a U.S. Marshals vehicle was hit. The chase continued on 59 and eventually law enforcement tried to use spikes to stop the suspect's vehicle, but the suspect drove around and hit a Department of Public Safety trooper head-on.

The suspect and child had minor injuries. No law enforcement officers were hurt.

The driver is in custody and the girl is safe. The driver’s identity has not been released.
