AUSTIN, Texas – Republican incumbent Texas Gov. Greg Abbott debated his Democratic challenger, former Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez, Friday night in Austin.
The hour-long gubernatorial debate was held at the LBJ Presidential Library on the University of Texas campus. This will be their only debate.
The two answered questions on a number of important local and regional issues, including property taxes, school safety and immigration.
A panel of Texas broadcast journalists, including KSAT 12's Steve Spriester, asked questions.
