DAVIE, Florida – Johansen Concepcion De La Ros was arrested Saturday after shooting an 8-month-old puppy named Princess, according to Davie police.
The puppy’s owners were walking Princess around a lake at the Centro Apartments in Florida when De La Ros took aim with a “high powered pellet rifle with a scope,” according to the Davie Police Department.

An off-duty Pembroke Pines police officer witnessed the event and said De La Ros took a knee, lined up the cross hairs and took a shot that killed the dog.
Princess began bleeding from the mouth and was taken to an animal hospital where it was determined that a pellet traveled through her chest, killing her.
At first the owners didn’t know what happened, according to a Facebook post from DPD.
Princess belonged to the 8-year-old daughter of the parents who were walking the puppy.
According to the DPD, the family had moved to the area the day before from out of state.
