Man wanted in connection with mobile home burglary on West Side

SAN ANTONIO – Crime Stoppers may pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of burglarizing a home last week.

Police on Wednesday released surveillance photos of the man suspected of robbing a trailer home in the 7600 block of West Military Drive. Police believe the man is between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds.

Authorities said the man burglarized the trailer home around 11 a.m. on Feb. 18. By the time police arrived at the home, the man was gone.

Resident Tamara Hurd said it was her next-door neighbor's home that was burglarized.

“We went in, I saw that he did, was like all up in her stuff, all up in every drawer, everything, everywhere.” Hurd said.

Police believe the man may know someone living in the neighborhood where the crime occurred.

"We’ve seen him at the park and stuff like that, so I am a little concerned.” Hurd said.

Police haven't said whether the man has been linked to any other crimes, but neighbors say none of the more than two dozen burglaries reported with a two-mile radius shock them.

“I’m not surprised. When you go to the corner store and see what you see, when you're at the park, when you're at the car wash and see the guys out here panhandling,” Hurd said.

The reported break-ins and suspicious activity have neighbors vowing to keep their eyes peeled for any other suspicious activity.

"It makes me believe that I should be a little more aware and cautious. I wish I could've helped the owner out a little bit more," said Xavier McDaniel, who also lives next door to the burglarized home.

Anyone with information on the home burglary should call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867.

Those seeking to cash in on the reward must make their tip directly to Crime Stoppers. All calls and tips to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
