WNBA San Antonio Stars announce relocation to another city

New city not yet announced by franchise

SAN ANTONIO – The WNBA San Antonio Stars are in negotiations to relocate to another city after almost 15 years in the Alamo City, Spurs Sports & Entertainment management announced Thursday.

This will be the second relocation of the Stars after the SS&E bought the team from Utah in 2002.

The Stars released a statement via Twitter Thursday night about the move.

”This was an extremely difficult decision as all of us at SS&E are proud of what the Stars have accomplished on the court and in the San Antonio Community," the statement read.

Information about what city the team will relocate to has not yet been announced by SS&E.
