2 students injured in NEISD bus accident

30 students were onboard at time of accident, 2 taken to hospital

SAN ANTONIO – A North East Independent School District bus with students onboard was involved in a traffic accident Friday morning, San Antonio police said.

The accident occurred before 9 a.m. on the access road of eastbound Loop 410 at Jackson Keller Road on the city's North Side.

According to a spokesperson with NEISD, the school bus was on the way to Lee High School when it was rear-ended by another vehicle as it was stopped at a railroad crossing.

NEISD said 30 students were on the bus at the time of the accident. Two students were taken by ambulance to the hospital to get checked out, while another student was released to their parents, who then took their child to the hospital.

The remaining students onboard were put onto another bus and taken to school.

NEISD said they were contacting the parents of all the students involved to alert them to what happened.
