Driver killed after losing control of vehicle, crashing into SUV

Crash occurred at intersection of FM 1346, Loop 1604

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead following a two vehicle crash in East Bexar County overnight, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirmed Tuesday.

The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of FM 1346 and Loop 1604.

According to deputies witnesses at the scene told them that a sports car was traveling southbound on Loop 1604 and had attempted to pass a vehicle on the right-hand side.

As the sports car passed by, the driver lost control and crossed into the northbound lanes of oncoming traffic and was then struck a sports utility vehicle.

The driver of the SUV was cleared by emergency crews but the driver of the sports car -- a man in his early 20’s to late 30’s -- was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

The man killed has yet to be dentified due to him not having any identification.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
