SAN ANTONIO – An 18-wheeler hit and killed a pedestrian late Wednesday morning on the city's Northwest Side.
San Antonio police said a 29-year-old man was parked on the right shoulder of the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near La Cantera Parkway at 11:15 a.m., when he got out of his vehicle and walked onto the highway. Moments later, he was hit by the big rig.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a police report, detectives are treating the case as a suicide.
The victim has not been identified.
