Atascosa County is cracking down on drunk driving this weekend with a new program during the Poteet Strawberry Festival.
For the first time in the county, drivers will be subject to a "no refusal weekend."
DPS announced that its troopers will be working with the Texas Department of Transportation and local law enforcement agencies to target drunk drivers during the festival.
Anyone who is arrested this weekend in Atascosa County for drinking and driving and refuses a breath test will get a sample of blood taken after a search warrant is obtained.
The program begins Thursday and runs through Sunday.
