The letter said that district officials received a tip that a student wanted to harm others at the school.

The district said an administrator and district police officer then went to the home of the student who allegedly made the threats.

The district said it also notified the parents of the students whose names were mentioned in the threat, as well as the adults at the school.

"It is important to note that the student did not have any weapons or any access to weapons, and that it is not clear whether or not there was actual intent to do harm. Nonetheless, we take any potential threat seriously and therefore acted quickly," the letter said.

The district said a student notified a parent of the alleged threats, who in turn notified district officials.

The student has been removed from school, and a police investigation into the threats is ongoing, the district said.
