Man's body discovered in San Pedro Creek

Victim identified as Gary Harrison, 36

SAN ANTONIO – An automatic trash-rake system apparently pulled the body of a man from San Pedro Creek on Friday morning, police officials said.

San Antonio Police Department spokesman Officer Doug Greene said maintenance crews found the body of Gary Harrison, 36, in the 700 block of Camaron.

The rake system apparently pulled up Harrison's body along with some trash from the creek, Greene said.

Police don't believe Harrison's death involved foul play and think it maybe weather-related.

Greene said police received some preliminary reports that Harrison was spotted Thursday evening in the area. Greene added that he was not aware of anyone reported missing or swept away but said police they are reviewing calls to see if there was anything related to someone in the water, especially during bad weather.
