SAN ANTONIO – A ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday morning unveiled some new features at a park on the city's West Side.
Oscar Perez Memorial Park now has a concrete trail and concrete gathering areas with furniture.
There are 26 new parking spaces and four solar-powered light fixtures.
"The park improvements that we have been doing across the city have really been ideas that have come from the community," said District 6 City Councilman Ray Lopez. "And that is really what we should be doing -- listening to the community and then going out there and deploying those ideas."
The improvements cost $350,000, which came from a 2012 bond package.
