Female inmate, 41, dies at Bexar County Jail

Woman dies of apparent cardiac arrest, BCSO says

SAN ANTONIO – A 41-year-old female inmate was found dead Monday morning at the Bexar County Jail.

The discovery was made around 8:18 a.m. during a scheduled check by a detention officer at the jail annex, Bexar County Sheriff's Office officials said.

The inmate was taken to Downtown Baptist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her name has not been released.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy.

BCSO's Criminal Investigation Division and Internal Affairs will launch an investigation.
