SAN ANTONIO – VIA Metropolitan Transit will host four public hearings to seek the community's input regarding service enhancements proposed for implementation in January 2018.
The improvements, including projects that would be funded through the city of San Antonio, pending budget approval, are designed to provide more frequent and efficient service on key routes.
Public hearings on the proposed changes will be held on the following dates:
- Tuesday at Guerra Library, 7978 W. Military Drive
- Wednesday at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, 1139 E. Sonterra Blvd.
- Sept. 12 at VIA Administration Building, 800 W. Myrtle St.
- Sept. 13 at St. Philip's College, Morgan Gallery, 1801 MLK Dr.
All hearings begin at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Proposed service changes include:
2 Blanco - Route will be modified to remove a segment on Loop 1604 from Blanco Road to Huebner Road.
6 US-281 Express - Service will be modified to operate every 30 minutes on weekdays during peak hours.
7 (new route) - This new route will provide express service every 30 minutes between the new Stone Oak Park & Ride and downtown on weekdays during the peak morning and afternoon hours.
503 (new route) - This new route will provide daily service every 30 minutes between the new Stone Oak Park & Ride and the Medical Center Transit Center.
In addition to the service changes above, the following routes will be enhanced to operate every 30 minutes on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.: 502, 602, 607, 611, 613, 615, 616, 617 and 618
The following route schedules will be enhanced to operate every 12 minutes, weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.: 20 and 26
The following routes will have minor schedule changes: 2, 66, 68, 603, 604, 605, 606, 609, 612, 614 and 619.
The following route pairs are proposed to be changed:
Current pairs: 20-66, 26-68, 602-604, 603-605, 607-606, 611-612 and 615-614
Proposed pairs: 20-26, 66-68, 602-607, 603-605-503, 604-606, 611-615 and 612-614
Comments may be submitted at the public hearings or in writing through the date provided below.
A court reporter/transcriber will be available to accept verbal comments.
