SAWS crews respond to sewage overflow on North Side due to heavy rain

Heavy rain caused overflow at wastewater treatment facility in Salado Creek area

SAN ANTONIO – This week’s heavy rainfall caused another sewage overflow at a wastewater treatment facility, according to officials from San Antonio Water System.

The overflow occurred in the 12000 block of Farview Lane in the Salado Creek area near Wurzbach Parkway.

The spill was the result of heavy rains and infiltration into the sanitary sewer.

SAWS officials say crews will begin to clean up the area once floodwaters recede.

Officials said the spill is not harmful to the area because it's been heavily diluted by storm water.
