The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in far south Bexar County.

Deputies were called around 6 a.m. Wednesday to a home in the 25300 block of Sandview Street, not far from Highway 281, after a woman was stabbed multiple times.

"I saw the tape and I said, 'That's not a good sign, you know, something must of really happened bad there," said neighbor Roger Salazar.

Deputy Johnny Garcia, a spokesman with the Sheriff's Office, said the man, identified as Joshua Campbell, and woman were in a dating relationship and that the stabbing was a result of a domestic dispute.

Garcia said both the woman and Campbell were found in the same room, with the family of the man holding him down until deputies arrived.

Campbell was then taken into custody by deputies, Garcia said.

"At this time, it appears that he stabbed her. It's the details of why that we do not have," Garcia said.

The 40-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. She has yet been identified by the BCSO.

"I'm just sad for them. It's terrible that something happened like this," Salazar said.

Garcia said Campbell has a criminal history and was recently released from prison. He added that the house was not one that deputies were familiar with.

Two witnesses inside the home at the time of the attack were taken in for questioning. The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing, Garcia said.
