Records: David Sandoval charged in connection with death of Marco Farias

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after a truck collided with his motorcycle on the city’s Southwest Side late Friday night.

Online records show David Sandoval, 59, is charged with intoxication manslaughter and driving while intoxicated after hitting and killing 26-year-old Marco Farias, who was riding his motorcycle near Whitewood Street and Southwest Military Drive.

Police said Sandoval was driving his truck down Southwest Military and was attempting to turn left on Whitewood Street when the crash occurred.

Police said the traffic light did not have a green arrow. They said Sandoval was attempting to turn on a yellow arrow.

Sandoval then collided with Farias, who was going in the opposite direction, police said.

Sandoval remains behind bars on a $50,000 bail. A mug shot was not immediately available for Sandoval.
