Fire erupts in home on city's West Side

Neighbors had to be evacuated briefly after nearby power lines began sparking

SAN ANTONIO – Fire crews continued mopping up the scene of a house fire on the 400 block of Glendale off of Old Highway 90 on the city's West Side Thursday night.

Fire officials said they are looking into the cause, but had gotten word that a child on a bike threw something at the house and took off.

The fire, in an unoccupied home, broke out about 9 p.m.

Neighbors had to be evacuated briefly after nearby power lines began sparking.

Arson investigators were called to the scene.
