Driver dies after shooting, car crash on the West Side, police say

Officers responded to a crash at Ingram Road and Northwestern, near Loop 410, at around 12:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, and found a man with a gunshot wound. (KSAT)

SAN ANTONIO – A driver who was found with a gunshot wound after he crashed his vehicle on the West Side has died, according to San Antonio police.

The man, 27, was found unresponsive when officers responded to a single-vehicle car crash just after midnight Monday at Ingram Road and Northwestern, near Loop 410.

Officers attempted life-saving measures until EMS arrived. They transported him to University Hospital, where he later died.

His identity has not been released by SAPD.

Police said no suspects have been named and the shooting is under investigation.
