SAN ANTONIO โ The 2021 NCAA Womenโs Basketball Tournament is headed to the Alamo City in just over a week. Jenny Carnes, with nonprofit organization San Antonio Sports, joined Leading SA on Sunday to break down the game plan. AdIn 2018, the menโs tournament was also held in San Antonio, however, during the current health crisis, the event itself will look a lot different. โWe will not have the same events that we are used to in San Antonio,โ Carnes said. Carnes said she is hoping additional family members and other supporters of the teams head to San Antonio to help support local businesses in the area during the tournament.
Volunteers wanted for 2021 NCAA Womenโs Basketball Tournament in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO โ The 2021 NCAA Womenโs Tournament tips off across the San Antonio region on March 21 and there is a campaign underway for volunteers to help make the tournament a success. The San Antonio Local Organizing Committee (SALOC) has launched a volunteer registration campaign for people interested in helping out during the tournament. A total of 64 teams will be in San Antonio and 63 games will be played overall. That percentage can change based on COVID conditions in the San Antonio community.
Thousands of volunteers needed to properly staff Womenโs NCAA Tournament in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO โ The entire NCAA Womenโs Basketball Tournament will be held in the greater San Antonio area this year, and in order to properly staff the event, San Antonio Sports Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jenny Carnes says that they need nearly 1,500 volunteers, 3,000 volunteer shifts. SA could lose womens Final Four due to Covid
